This last Sunday I was one of the lucky competitors to be asked to particpate in an exhibition competition.  The Warriorz Throwdown was one of the most original events I have attended since being involved with CrossFit.  Here's my recap of the super fun day!

I wish I had known about this in advance I was in Elk Grove/Lodi last weekend timing the Race for Awareness on Saturday. There was a Crossfit team participating in the that and they had a poster for it at their booth. I wondered if you were going to be participating. I totally would have found a way to stay down there and come and cheer you on. Sounds like fun! I'm glad your neck is doing better.

    CrossFit Games

Saturday was one of the hardest days of my athletic career.  My body was rebelling, my heart was aching and my mind was confused.

Thanks for sharing your experiences with us, Jenny. Injuries are one of the hardest things about being an athlete, I think. You gave it everything you had. Full effort. Full victory.

Jenny, I cried for you then, and now your poignant recall brings tears again! You are my champion, my hero! How many athletes have pushed themselves so far for so long? You gave your all to the very point of near destruction. No one could doubt your strong will and determination in the face of pain and exhaustion. Your family and friends are so
proud of you, your multitude of accomplishments and all that you stand for - a true inspiration! We are just blessed to know and love you! You will be back!!!

This struggle and perseverance of yours confirms to me what I already knew: you are a warrior, and such a wonderful spirit.

"In great attempts, it is glorious even to fail."

But you did not even fail, you did so much more... Can't wait to see what fire you bring to the next one. Keep rocking you!

Jenny, this brought tears to my eyes. Your writing really brings the story to life.
As an athlete myself I can understand how hard it would have been to make the final decision. But just know that the entire world is looking up to you. I respect you even more as an athlete for your strength in pulling through as far as you did and for listening to your body and finally knowing when to stop. You are a champion in ever aspect of the word and an outstanding role model in the CrossFit community. Thank you for being you! I am honored to have met you.

    CrossFit Games

One day down, three to go.  The second day of The Games felt like it was the first, despite some sore quads.  The events were now at the Home Depot Center, the stands were filled with screaming spectators and the excitement was contagious.  Every emotion you could think of was pulsing through the veins of the athletes...but now was our time to show everyone what we had worked so hard for.

Let The Games Begin!  Day 1 of the 2012 Reebok CrossFit Games began 2 days earlier than any year past and with the longest workout in Games history.  Not a bad way to kick off the 2012 season.

      1. What a guy that Marcus. That's so sweet! Big huge cyber hug from me to him!

      2. Even though the tri announcement was a shocker, I was happy that it consisted of elements you love. I totally knew it was going to be your event!

      3. The O-course was anyone's guess. That's a hard thing to prepare for unless you just got out of boot camp. Haha. But I thought everyone did well given the fact that it was announced the night before and you had only a limited amount of time to prepare for it.

      4. I like how you are good at pumping yourself back up so easy and quickly and not being so hard on yourself if you didn't do as well as you liked. To me, that's where it all begins before strength and gas tanks.

      5. And as I sat at work listening to the live coverage, I'm actually blessed that my boss pretty much stayed clear of my desk while I got absolutely nothing done. What a patient guy! Haha.

I'm eagerly following your posts about the games. Thanks for sharing your experience with the world. You are such a phenomenal and inspiring athlete. Because of women like you, I am able to push myself harder to leave my comfort zone and succeed.

It was a dream come true to meet and have my picture taken with you at the games.

Take care and all the best!
